Viewing/Previewing an HTML Document

Back to Introduction to Nvu Home | Previewing Your Webpage Within Nvu | Viewing Your Webpage Within a Web Browser

Once you have created a webpage, it's always a good idea to check how the page looks within an actual web browser. The easiest way to preview a webpage within Nvu is to use the tabs at the bottom of the Nvu application window.

Previewing Your Webpage Within Nvu

Nvu opens in Normal mode. Within Normal mode, you may add text and insert images as you might within Microsoft Word. When you click on the tab at the bottom of the Nvu window, you can see how the webpage will look with all special formatting characters hidden, just like Print Preview in Microsoft Word. Please note: links and other webpage elements will not be active within this view. To check links between you pages and to other sites, you must view your page in a regular web browser.

Click the Browse button located in the Button Toolbar at the top of the Nvu interface. This will cause your computer's default browser to launch displaying the page on which you are working.
