Battery Care & Information
 

General Information
  • Each PDA box includes two charged batteries - one in use and the other as a spare.
  • The PDA battery will last for 3-5 hours of constant use.
  • Recharge every night.
  • If battery gets low and you cannot recharge, you have 30 minutes to switch to the spare battery.
  • Do not touch the contacts on the battery or the PDA.

Charging
1. Turn off PDA.
2. Place adapter on end of cable. The adapter can stay on cable for the entire semester.
3. Connect one end of the cable to an electrical outlet.
4. Position the adapter so that the Dell logo is facing up.
5. Position the PDA face up.
6. Locate the slot at the bottom of the PDA and insert the adapter into the slot. Do not force the adapter into the slot.
7. To remove the PDA for use, press the small buttons on either side of the adapter and remove it.

Changing
1. Turn off PDA.
  
2. Unlock battery cover by moving the switch at the bottom middle of the PDA to left. The battery cover should pop up slightly.
3. Remove battery cover.
4. Lift battery out using small tab on the left. Do not touch the metal contacts on the battery or inside the PDA.
5. Position the new battery over the plastic strip the runs across the battery case (this is the tab that allows you to remove the battery).
6. Hold the new battery at an angle with the contacts facing down and towards the contacts on the PDA.
7. Gently push the new battery into position.
8. Replace the cover and hold it in place.  
9. Secure the cover by holding it closed and moving the lock switch to the right.
